To begin the certification for a green business and obtain your seal, please fill out the following questionnaire. After completion of the questionnaire we will send you an email with the digital checklist for you to fill out and go over in person. We will visit your place of business to complete. We charge a nominal fee for our time.

For each question please answer the following: a.) What are you doing now? b.) What can you do for the future? c.) If this doesn't apply to your industry please state that.

1. Energy – How much energy do you use? Can you use less or adopt clean alternative energy sources? *

2. Waste and Recycling – What waste do you produce and where does it come from? Is it hazardous? How can you reduce waste and prevent pollution? Can you find ways to recycle or upcycle waste materials (e.g. install recycling bins in the break room)? *

3. Buildings – How eco-friendly are your buildings? Are there opportunities to improve energy efficiency and upgrade lighting, insulation, heating and cooling? Are you maximizing natural light or natural airflow whenever possible? *

4. Products & Packaging – Do your products use sustainably sourced and eco-friendly materials? How does manufacturing your products impact the environment? Is your packaging also safe for people and the planet? *

5. Supply Chain – Are you using vendors and suppliers who are environmentally and socially responsible? Are you sourcing products locally or from the closest source? Are there areas to improve supply chain efficiency in terms of lowering waste and carbon emissions? *

6. Water – How much water do you use? How much do you waste? Can you conserve water with smart technology (e.g. motion sensor faucets)? Do you use plastic bottles for water? *

7. Food – Where do you source your food from? What food do you provide employees? Is it healthy and produced from sustainable sources? Can we minimize meat and offer more plant based options? Are you composting food waste? *

8. Transportation – What vehicles do you use for distribution and operations? Can you reduce employee business travel? If not, how can you offset your carbon emissions? *

9. Community – Do you support your local communities and local farms? Do you get involved in environmental causes, events and associations? Are you evangelizing green business? *

10. Employees – Do you offer employee training in sustainability? Do you have a green team? Are you creating a green culture? What’s your level of employee engagement? Do you communicate policies company-wide? *
