GLAMR Boutique by Bre in Monroe

10/31/2022

1. How did you choose this area? What are your favorite things about this area?
My husband and I grew up in Montana. We moved to Eugene in 2013 for my job as a retail manager. After the birth of our first child in 2016, we decided to purchase our first home and move to Junction City. We loved that home and neighborhood but wanted to find somewhere that reminded us a little more of home and gave us some property and privacy to raise our family. We moved to Monroe in November 2020. We love the community, school and small town feel.

2. What is your background and how did you get into what you do?
I worked for a retail clothing company for just shy of 10 years. I loved being able to use my creative touch to design outfits and help people feel good about themselves. Once I had my son, I struggled with the commitment of a 50+ hour work week and being able to raise the family I had always dreamed of. With the help of my husband, we were able to make the fortunate switch to me being a stay at home mom. I am so grateful for the time I get to focus on my family and our future. Once our kiddos got a little older, I started searching for a way to help provide and take some pressure off of our finances. After a few trial and error jobs, I decided to take the risk and start my own boutique. I missed working with fashion and was able to work creatively with a flexible schedule for our family.

3. How would you describe your business?
GLAMR Boutique is a women’s clothing boutique.

4. What makes your business unique?
I take inspiration from deep rooted music influence. I choose pieces with a country, rock and boho vibe. I find pieces I would love both on and off the stage.

5. What do you hope for your business in the next 5 years?
I hope to be able to provide a sole source of income for our family and allow the financial freedom that comes with that. I hope the business may become a well known, local favorite with the eventual goal of owning a full time store location in a high traffic area. I would love to be more involved in the community.

6. Are there any local causes you support?
Being relatively new to this area, I am learning. I have recently been more involved in the grade school and volunteering weekly. We even got to coach my son’s soccer team this year!

7. Do you belong to any local organizations?
I am the lead vocalist for a local cover band, CODE RED as well.
